I am an Erasmus Mundus master's in plant breeding - emPLANT graduate with an avid interest in vegetable crops. I have worked in ornamental breeding particularly in roses, along with citrus horticulture molecular research and I am currently working with tomato breeding. A balanced field and laboratory work is what I strive for. My aim is to work in an institution with challenging and professional environment so that I can use my potentiality and intelligence to do something innovative for the betterment of my career as well as for the betterment of the institution where my qualification is required.
- Conceptualizing, executing, assessing, and documenting different types of pot tomato breeding trials and screenings in line with the breeding plan, focusing on traits based on market requirements. - Robust understanding of agronomy, crop cultivation practices, and crop protection strategies while managing multiple locations. - Seed production of F1 hybrids at international facilities ensuring high-quality output.
- Genetic evaluation of different Citrus varieties using DNA/RNA extraction and qPCR and data analysis with R-software. - Designing primers for detection of HLB tolerant genes based on the genome of Australian finger lime. - Phenotyping of hybrids obtained from crossing of citrus and microcitrus. - Performed SEM microscopy for more detailed phenotyping in University of the French Antilles.
- Making everyday breeding plan to create new varieties of roses by cross pollination. - Phenotyping in regards to disease resistance in association with Wageningen University & Research. - Introducing the usage of frozen pollen in case of unavailability of fresh pollen.
