Antonio Ivan Lazzarino is a clinically qualified doctor and a health data scientist. He has a 20+ year experience in both public health epidemiology and general clinical medicine. Dr Lazzarino contributed to developing, managing and using large linked electronic health records databases including HES (Hospital Episode Statistics), ONS (Office for National Statistics), CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink), WSIC (Whole System Integrated Care), the London SDE (Secure Data Environment), and others. He is an expert in the assessment and management of neuro-hormonal dysfunctions associated with mental stress across general practice and occupational health settings. At UCL, he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. He is the founder of EPISTATA. He was awarded for outstanding contribution to protecting the public’s health during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Faculty of Public Health, United Kingdom.
