My resume includes: • Deutsche Bank (2004) • Endesa (2005) • LG Electronics (2006–2008) • Banc Sabadell (2009–2016) • Zara Home (2023–present) I also blog about intercultural communication and plural identities in my four languages: https://gravatar.com/antonimaroto. In 2026, I became part of a team of operations specialists providing support for Zara Home stores in Andorra, Portugal, and Spain.
Since late 2023, I’ve been working for Zara Home as a representative serving customers from 35+ markets in Catalan, English, Portuguese, and Spanish via chat, email, instant messaging, and phone. My scope involves: • Pre-sale questions • Product information • Online navigation issues • Order management • Notifications • Return and refund processes • Feedback and claims • Store support In 2024, I scored an average of 9.94 out of 10 in quality assurance and was recognized on three separate occasions as a productive performer. That trend has continued throughout 2025, with top scores (10/10) every month and above-average performance, which is generally compensated with bonus pay.
I manage blogs in: • Catalan (llegimencatala.wordpress.com) • English (antonimaroto.com/blog) • Portuguese (escrevoemportugues.wordpress.com) • Spanish (antonimaroto.medium.com). Here on LinkedIn, I've shared over 70 articles and more than 1,000 posts since 2017. Additionally, I wrote about my profession and major milestones as a freelancer at Antoni's Advice & Adventures: antonimaroto.wixsite.com/oldsite/blog The ATA Chronicle, Intercambios, and The Savvy Newcomer published some of my articles, and a selection of my most-read ones is available at antonimaroto.com/portfolio. I'm currently available for hire!
While I provided translation services in my previous salaried jobs, I started doing it as an independent contractor in late 2010. In 2016, I began specializing in medicine and other related life sciences. A year later, I passed the American Translators Association (ATA) exam and retained my ATA-Certified English into Spanish Translator credential until early 2024. In summary, I translated texts, transcribed audio, and subtitled videos in: • Catalan (Andorra and Catalonia) • English (US) • Portuguese (Galicia and Portugal) • Spanish (Spain and US) I'm open to reopening this chapter under certain conditions.
The Medical Communicator was the result of my years specializing in the health care and medicine fields. My projects generally involved: • Clinical trial protocols • Educational and marketing materials • Health care agreements • Informed consent documents • New drug applications • Patient forms, instructions, and records • Premarket submissions for medical devices During this time, I volunteered for the Medical Division of the American Translators Association (ATA) and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA). After returning to Europe to establish a better work-life balance, I decided to redefine my career.
Expanding my freelance career as a translator prompted me to move to America. I translated, localized, edited, and transcribed mainly for the medical sector, but also for genealogists, insurance companies, law enforcement agencies, and schools. Additionally, I provided on-site interpretation services to law firms and healthcare providers. Since I increasingly took on medical translation projects, I eventually chose to revamp my brand accordingly.
