Managing a group of patent attorneys based in Italy and Belgium collectively responsible for providing Patent support for global projects relating to R&D vaccine programs and established commercial products. Established relationships and counselling senior colleagues and key R&D and Business Partners and represent Global Patent on respective boards/meetings. Member of the Global Patent Leadership team Conduct IP due diligence on strategic deals, established licensing and provide sophisticated counselling to business clients and R&D to protect key commercial assets and platform technologies such as RNA. Formulate and roll out of the Vaccine patent strategy including development of and/or develop critical patent and confidentiality trainings for R&D and Legal partners. Enforcement and protection of GSK IP rights, including initial case analysis, ongoing case strategy, and settlement options. 10 years experience with opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. Coordination of multi-jurisdictional patent litigation for GSK Vaccines, working with legal advisers from North America and across Europe.
Supervision of the on-boarding of the Global IP team and transfer global IP portfolio to GSK Global responsibility of transfer of legacy Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics to GSK Vaccines
Managing a group of patent attorneys, technology specialists and paralegal staff, collectively responsible for providing Intellectual Property related support for global projects relating to bacterial vaccine programs.
Provide IP support to Vaccine research - define IP strategy for the advanced projects - Managing patent portfolio and strategy, drafting patent applications; drafting and reviewing technology and material transfer agreements; performing IP related due diligence activities.
- Patent Head of Regenerative Medicine Research Unit. - Working as patent attorney specialized in Biopharmaceuticals supporting various Pfizer Research Units, including Pain, Animal Health and Allergy/Respiratory - Drafting patent specification on Pfizer Biology inventions such as mAbs, Bioprocess, injection devices - Prosecution of patent applications worldwide - BioProduct attorney in charge of the IP strategy for advanced therapeutical antibody project - Conducting freedom to operate analysis on R&D targets and Field of Use and providing infringement and validity opinions. - Opposition and Appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office including including preparing opposition statements, appeals and representing Pfizer at hearings. - IP regional liaison : Patent/IP advice (LOE, Data Exclusivity) to AfME, France, Turkey Regulatory, Business and Legal - Conducting IP due diligence - Advising on regulatory exclusivities - Education of research and commercial staff on IP matters.
