Executive Director for Tantum Consulting a specialist consultancy in Economics, Policy, Inward investment, Economic development and Strategy. Responsible for leading the delivery of a broad range of services to Government departments, Government Agencies and Inward Investment Groups across the globe. This includes Economic Analysis, Economic Strategy, Industry Analysis, Evaluation, Site Selection and Economic Development & Regeneration. This leverages my experience in working for private and public sector groups in Europe, the Middle-East and North America.
In this role I was responsible for the development of a progressive range of policies to support the development of the Banking, Finance and Professional Services sector. This required to work extensively with key decision makers within UK and international banking, finance and professional services to support their expansion strategies and to identify potential barriers to entry. Given the scope of the role I was required to work with key stakeholders from government, industry and a range of academia, thinks tanks to support businesses as they look to expand their presence within the UK. I was also responsible for managing the sector team and to ensure all outputs were of the required quality.
As the SVP I was responsible for building relationships with UK government and US banking and finance institutions. With a view to supporting and enhancing their presence within the UK The role required me to build key strategic relationships with leaders and influencers within the US banking community and to support the business as they look to build and expand their presence internationally. Drawing on my considerable experience I lead the commissioning and curation of a programme of engagement with key industry players and influencers. This builds on my considerable experience in leading focused investor targeting campaigns and leading executive client meetings with the senior management of large corporate groups. More broadly, I initiated a program of engagement with key strategic partners including US government departments, state level departments, academia and key industry bodies to promote greater collaboration and to remove potential barriers to business.
As the Vice-President for the WDA/Welsh Government I was responsible for building relationships between large Fortune 500 and the UK marketplace to assist businesses in realising the market opportunities available in the UK and the EU. The role required me to develop a comprehensive programme of engagement with key decision makers and industry bodies across the United States and to enhance their understanding of the potential market opportunities available and how they could potentially optimise their footprint within the market. The role required executive level presence, poise and confidence with the ability to articulate the offering to the senior management, typically C-Level Executives, of large multi-national corporations. The role also required advanced project management skills with the ability to work closely with key influencers to support greater international engagement and to remove potential barriers to businesses who are looking to develop opportunities in new markets. The role required me to work with clients and strategic partners across multiple geographies and time zones as an individual and as a member of a virtual team.
