My experience is with technology, on the mainframe and client server platforms. That experience was garnered as a developer, then as a tech lead. During this time I gathered experience working as a consultant to our business partners, often gathering their requirements, determining what processes met their needs, and then doing the work to meet those needs. Because of this experience, slowly built, I was moved to delivery management to lead projects. My goal is to continue to grow as a project manager as I grow in technical and business knowledge. Specialties: Handling difficult projects where conflict is almost sure to arise. Integrity is important to me, and I believe that approaching all parties with a reputation for, and commitment to integrity helps in conflict-prone situations.
Experience in Information Technology leadership and Project Management. Experience in financial projects, including compliance.
I am a PMP Certified Project Manager. I Led software engineering teams and business analysts to complete projects for HSBC- Finance from the project initiation through project closure. Some of these project were small in scope, and within a single department. Others were large and complex, often utilizing offshore development and testing teams. These projects involved developing applications for the mainframe, for a client-server front end, and for web based reports on the company's intranet. I have worked with MS Office in my project managment, including MS Project, and with Clarity, a tool used for project planning, scheduling, and control.
I developed and supported applications used by collections for Household, developing on the mainframe (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, SAS, File-Aid, Synch Sort) and in PowerBuilder. I also used MS Office applications in my work (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access) and Visio. Along with technical applications, I also interfaced with business partners, gathering requirements for projects in collections, and helping them with various business and technical issues.

I was a TPF Assembler programmer for Beneficial Finance, right out of the Chubb Institute. I did not learn Assembler at Chubb. Beneficial hired me anyway, and had me attend a two week training program in Assembler. I was warned against Assembler by many people, due to the fact that it is supposed to be a difficult language. But I absolutely loved it, and was disappointed that I did not have a chance to work with it longer. I have kept familiar with it though, as I feel that it makes one a better programmer. Due to my work ethic and capability, I was hired by Household when that company bought Beneficial.
