Thank you for visiting my LinkedIn page. I have a background in mathematics and began my career teaching Registered Nurses how to safely calculate medication dosages. From that sparked a further interest in developing innovative, interactive and simulated online solutions to enhance medication safety which is an area I have now been actively involved in for over 20 years. Leading a team of developers and clinicians I now work very closely with both the academic and hospital sectors to collect data on medication errors and translate that data into effective and highly realistic online learning, assessment and compliance tool. This online training and assessment solution is licensed as Med+Safe in Australasia/UK (www.medsafe.com.au) and Prac+Safe in the US/Canada (www.pracsafe.com). Independent research has cited Med+Safe/Prac+Safe in association with a 37% reduction in sentinel events within the hospital sector and dramatically improved student pass rates (from 60% to 92%) and confidence in math and dosage calculations. Our research featured in the NCSBN's Leader to Leader magazine in November 2023. Med+Safe is the most widely used medication safety training and assessment tool in the University and Hospital sectors in the Australasia region with over 100,000 licensed users. I founded and managed Educational Innovations that produced and developed electronic learning resources specifically for the nursing sector. The Nursing Calculations program was taken up Australia wide at university, TAFE and hospital level.
