Solving reliability problems with bearings is my passion. This together with a customer first focus, has meant I have the ability to improve the performance of rotatable equipment effectively and efficiently. I support my team and ensure our customers’ experiences are positive, be it with our Site Service Technicians or through our best practice before/after sales technical support. Starting with CBC Bearings in 1992 (Trading arm of Motion Australia), I have held many roles within the organization. In the early days these were customer support sales roles and then into account management. These positions gave me a great understanding of what customer service really is. The major shift in my career came when I studied engineering. Going back to university to study engineering after hours was one of the best decisions of my life and I am forever grateful to my manager at the time for encouraging it. It has opened so many doors and provided me with opportunities I could only have dreamed of including business and engineering management roles supporting some of Australia’s leading manufacturing and mining sites, together with an international posting on a mine site in Papua. The focus of getting results in line with customer needs is front of mind when managing my staff also. Making sure they are provided with the right tools, training, experiences and opportunities so they can be the best reliability engineers in the industry is what excites me, I’ve got no doubt that being involved in team sports most of my life has influenced this.
