A polymer chemist by training, I have 15 years of experience in chemical characterization, analytical problem solving, and scientific leadership. My career began at the University of Warwick, where I managed a polymer characterization lab and supported clients and fellow researchers across a range of analytical techniques. At Jordi Labs (now an RQM+ company), I’ve grown from Senior Chemist to Principal Scientist, leading multi‑disciplinary teams, mentoring fellow scientists, and developing robust analytical methods that support our regulatory and investigative work. I enjoy tackling complex materials and chemistry challenges, and working collaboratively to deliver practical, well‑reasoned solutions for our customers. I’m a problem solver at heart. I’m motivated by working closely with teams and using my technical expertise to help customers understand their materials and overcome whatever challenges they may have.
• Author and reviewer of technical reports, using data to solve complex issues for customers using a wide range of analytical techniques. • Managed teams of chemists across multiple analytical disciplines and worked with operations to ensure deadlines were met. • Oversaw the operation, maintenance, and calibration of instruments and equipment ensuring all are functioning optimally. • Lead cross-disciplinary team meetings, driving communication and alignment on projects, and troubleshooted technical challenges.
• Performing polymer analysis for external clients, from simple molecular sizing using GPC/SEC to more in-depth analyses requiring complimentary techniques such as NMR and MALDI-TOF spectrometry • Act as point of contact for potential and existing clients and providing planning, costing, analysis and reporting • Management of a polymer characterization laboratory including regular calibration and maintenance of aqueous, organic and high-temperature systems, enforcing safety protocols and general upkeep • Training undergraduate, postgraduate and post-doctoral students • Participated in the planning and execution of two successful external GPC/SEC courses for researchers in industry, personally conducting hands-on sessions both with the instruments and data processing using software packages
• During Ph.D, laboratory demonstrator for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate Chemistry students • Supervising groups of students conducting experiments, providing help and advice on the experimental and theoretical aspects of the work, enforcing safety protocols and marking lab scripts
