Mr. Salvador has more than 30 years of progressive operating and technical services experience in base metals and gold mines across four continents. Previous roles include Technical Services, Production, and Underground Manager. He joined Lundin Mining in 2008 initially as a Study Manager until assuming the role of Group Mining Engineer during which he provided technical support to the company’s operating mines and to business development opportunities. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director of the Neves-Corvo Mine (SOMINCOR SA) Antonio was Director of Operational Technology for Lundin Mining.

Managing Director of SOMINCOR S.A. in Portugal, producing copper, zinc and lead concentrates. Neves-Corvo is a 5.25 Mtpa underground operation with two processing plants located in Southern Portugal and port facility in Setubal, with approximately 2,600 colleagues, including on site contractors.
Responsible for designing and implementing the Operational Technology roadmap for LMC mining operations, focusing on opportunities to leverage technology, including automation, to drive improved performance from mine to port. This includes optimizing existing technology and identifying new innovative technologies for deployment at the operations.
Providing support to the group’s mining operations as well as support to corporate development. Responsibilities include working with the on-site teams to improve and optimise mine reserve estimation, mine planning and scheduling, geotechnical analysis and ground support, mining method selection, mine project design, construction, operations and maintenance, cost efficiency and safety and environmental performance. Supporting Lundin’s business and corporate development initiatives through a range of reviews of early stage projects through to detailed and due diligence and valuation exercises on advanced projects or operating mines. Member of the Tailings Stewardship team responsible for ensuring compliance with Lundin Mining’s tailings management standard and associated procedures.
My responsibilities in this role were to identify, define and subsequently optimize medium to long term projects that added value and sustainability to the Neves Corvo (SOMINCOR) business unit and consequently to the Lundin Mining group. Concurrent responsibilities included other areas and projects of strategic importance, for eg. NSR and Cut-Off grade management. In addition, I was responsible for maintaining the financial modeling that supports mid to long term budgeting and NAV evaluations.
