Took part in a trading simulation, understanding how headlines can shape decision making in long/ short trades. Gained insight into the various areas of the business and how each link and support one another. Learnt how to deliver net profit in volatile global markets.
Selected to attend an event where I had the opportunity to hear from various divisions as well as network with employees to learn more about the company and its culture. Also had the chance to work with others for a 'summit challenge', learning how to address risk and mitigate around possible problems.
One of few first years chosen. Created pitch on ESG Due Diligence for M&A. Awarded prize for 'most compelling pitch'. Gained hands-on experience in audit, specifically in the Not For Profit Division. Utilised ProAudit to complete over 100 files, building my time management and client communication skills.
Over the two days I had the opportunity to hear from a number of professionals in the industry and learn more about the industry as well as Deloitte as a company. I particularly enjoyed working on the project over the two days, where I had the chance to work with an amazing group of people as well as develop my own personal skill set. Collaborating and creating practical solutions, which we then presented to a panel of professionals was an amazing opportunity to both grow my presentation skills whilst gaining valuable feedback.
