As a legal counsel at Aalto Research and Innovation Services, my role is to support and guide Aalto University in legal and compliance matters. With a focus on research and innovation, I specialize in the exciting fields of science in departments of Computer Science, Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering and Management and Schook of Business. My day-to-day activities involve drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including collaboration agreements, sales and purchase agreements, material transfer agreements, NDA's, and other IPR agreements. I work with various private and public organizations and research institutions, both domestically and internationally (especially Europe, US and Asia regions). Majority of my work is conducted in English. My expertise in contract law and IPR matters, coupled with my experiences in the field of data privacy and technology, positions me perfectly to provide first-rate legal advice to both experts and beginners in a variety of fields. I also possess knowledge of legal questions related to medical research. I work closely with the Aalto University Research Ethics Committee, where I provide legal counseling and advice on ethical questions following the TENK guidelines.
As an Assistant Manager and Legal Counsel at a leading consulting firm, I provided expert counsel to clients on a variety of legal matters, with a focus on commercial contracts, intellectual property rights (IPR), and litigation. My extensive knowledge in the area of IPR was used to aid clients in navigating licensing, trade secrets and general contract law. I bring a strong understanding of the intersection between law and business. I have experience working with start-ups as well as large corporations, providing effective legal counsel to clients of all sizes. My legal expertise allowed me to provide valuable assistance and guidance across a wide range of industries, including technology, healthcare, retail, logistics and more. In my role, I also assisted clients in both criminal and civil court proceedings. Merilampi Attorneys is a law firm with a specialized expertise in Business law. As a member of Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Employment law team, I had the privilege of serving as a Legal Trainee. My primary role was to conduct thorough legal research, provide sound legal advice, and prepare professional memoranda and legal documents. I also had the opportunity to share my insights on current legal topics through articles and stay up-to-date with the constantly evolving legislation.
As a summer intern in the Legal Structure Change Programme (LSP), Corporate Sales Finland, and Corporate Issuing Finland teams, my main duties included identifying diverging provisions and transfer clauses in agreements, handling and editing essential documents, providing translations in Finnish, English, and Swedish, and assisting with internal communication and marketing tasks. Throughout my time as a trainee, I was able to develop key skills in legal analysis and communication while contributing to the team's overall objectives.
As a trainee, I worked closely with team of lawyers, providing assistance with research and administrative tasks, as well as managing day-to-day office operations and running errands. I also gained valuable experience by conducting legal research and in reception duties during client meetings. Furthermore, I was responsible for supervising new Junior Trainees, ensuring their orientation and training were thorough, and organizing work assignments to facilitate their learning.
