Alongside my co-program educator, I educated a class of 7 potential new members about our sorority's history and values, designed and implemented the New Member Process curriculum, fostered teamwork and professional development through group mentorship, and documented the potential new members’ development throughout the semester.
I worked with my co-philanthropy chairholder to raise $400 for Kappa Phi Lambda's national philanthropy CARE and coordinated an educational event about our local philanthropy Stop It Now!'s mission.
I facilitated and documented meeting minutes for executive board and chapter meetings, sent detailed weekly emails to chapter to ensure transparent communication with members, maintained and updated a spreadsheet of the entire chapter roster, and booked rooms and tabling for our events and fundraisers.
As the business manager of my a cappella group The Vocal Suspects, I handled business inquiries, booked gigs for our group, and planned our seasonal concerts by finding venues and organizing the logistics.
I studied how mammals reconfigure their neural circuitry following traumatic brain injury in the Pallas Lab. I collected the brain tissue of mice at different times after injury and processed it to visualize how retinal axons respond to injury.
I advised freshman and sophomore biology students on course selection and general education requirements, directed them to campus resources, and assisted with drop-in appointments and information sessions.
I worked alongside a postdoctorate fellow on a project examining antiviral immunity and genome defense in C. elegans. I also helped train a fellow intern on how to generate transgenic strains that result in cell-specific knockouts of particular genes of interest.
As a senior caregiver, I provided companionship services, such as preparing meals or giving medication reminders, and home helper services, such as performing light housekeeping tasks or running errands.
