About

With over 18 years in media production, I oversee Anna Zhu Pty Ltd, delivering photography, film, and storytelling solutions to public and private sector clients across diverse industries. Our team manages projects end-to-end, offering services including strategy, scripting, animation, talent casting, and post production, to craft compelling narratives that engage audiences. In my role as Oral Historian at the National Library of Australia, I contribute consistently to a variety of collections, including eminent Australians like Joe Brumm (creator of Bluey). This work allows me to preserve stories that enrich our collective identity and provide lasting value to the community.

  • Oral Historian, Photographer at National Library of Australia
    Nov 2021 - Present · 4 yrs 9 mos

I'm currently working on a collection focussed on Chinese Australians and their migration experience. My interview subjects have been exceptionally diverse, of varied ages, industries, and walks of life. Documenting oral history has been a rich and rewarding experience. Often, I am learning just as much about myself as I am learning about my subjects. It is truly a joy to be able to create a body of work that is not ephemeral, that gains richness with time, adds value to our community and informs our collective identity. I hope to have a life-long relationship with the Library and continue to contribute.
