Slaithwaite, England, United Kingdom
I have been a leader within the Power Networks sector for the past decade. In September 2021 we established Blake Clough Consulting, an independent Power Networks consultancy, which has grown strongly and offers great services for power systems, electrical design, grid connection consulting and electricity regulation. I am also a Chartered Electrical Power Systems Engineer and Fellow of the IET (FIET), and spent some time in Management Consulting in my early career. I enjoy applying technical and commercial skills to solve industry and business problems in the electricity sector, and utilising technical analysis to provide innovative solutions that make sense from a commercial point of view. I have provided strategic studies and advice to government bodies and industry organisations including Ofgem, DECC, Scottish Government, RenewableUK and The Crown Estate. We also provide direct advice to generation developers. I have a strong academic background, with MA and MEng degrees in Electrical and Information Sciences from Cambridge University (with distinction), a PhD in Electronic Engineering (prize winner) and an MSc in Electrical Power Systems from Bath University (distinction and year prize). I was previously a distance learning tutor at University of Bath which includes tutoring, lecturing and writing study guides. I have completed 2 CPD modules in finance from LSE.
