Locket Magazine is a music, fashion, and culture magazine based in Austin, Texas, focused on documenting local tastemakers, avant garde fashion, experimental music, and everything underground. As Design Lead, I prepare our 80-some page magazine for print using Adobe inDesign and Photoshop. I design around 20% of the pages, mostly including supplemental designs (credits, table of contents, etc.) and layout design for long form editorial pieces. I am also a contributing writer & photographer, specializing in electronic music and street fashion. -Operate Point of Sale technology, handle money, bag and scan items efficiently with a positive attitude creating an excellent customer service experience -Collect and organize shopping carts in parking lot ensuring a pleasant and clean storefront -Collaborate with team members across all departments to ensure a positive experience for each customer
- Perform development functions including grant writing, sponsor solicitation, gift-in-kind solicitation, and fundraising. - Coordinate social media content for LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Wrote social media copy daily - Create graphics for social media, newsletters, signage, and other organizational needs (inc business cards, letter heads, promotional pamphlets, etc) - Plan and coordinate John Slatin AccessU, Knowbility's annual conference in accessible digital design. - Ensure events, including digital events, run smoothly -Coordinate and perform outreach for the Accessibility Internet Rally, a six-week hackathon teaching web pros about accessible digital design from the ground up - Meet web accessibility standards by captioning and writing alternate text for all photos and ensuring color contrast guidelines are met in all graphics and readable content including PDF files and social media posts
