I’m a third year student at Western University pursuing a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Systems Engineering. I’m passionate about applying insights from both fields to develop innovative solutions that address complex engineering challenges while fostering sustainable advancements. During my time in Western Engineering, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both technical and analytical skills. I’ve gained hands on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java and SQL, and I’ve worked with industry standard tools like Aspen Plus to model and simulate chemical processes. Through both coursework and hands on projects I have strengthened not only my problem solving abilities but also my collaboration and leadership skills.
As a part of a research team, I worked on developing an integrated CO₂ capture and methanol synthesis process that combines solvent desorption with catalytic CO₂ hydrogenation in a single reactor system. This integrated approach aims to reduce thermal energy requirements and process complexity compared to proposed carbon capture and conversion to methanol processes. - Built and optimized Aspen Plus simulations for both conventional and integrated systems. - Used simulations to evaluate different solvent-catalyst systems under different operating conditions to improve performance. - Assessed processes in terms of energy utilization, CO₂ emissions, and methanol yield.
This role strengthened my leadership, problem solving, and operational management skills, while giving me hands on experience in agricultural production and team coordination. Team Management & Coordination: Helped supervise a team of up to 15 workers, ensuring tasks were assigned efficiently and completed on time. Provided training, direction, and support to maintain productivity and morale throughout shifts. Quality Control: Enforced quality standards throughout the production process, ensuring that only premium products were selected to be sold, prioritizing customer satisfaction Problem Solving & Decision Making: Acted as a point of contact for resolving any issues or challenges that arose, such as equipment malfunctions or customer grievances. Made quick, informed decisions to keep the workflow running smoothly.
