I welcome contact requests, provided you state your reason for contacting me. I maintain a lively network with thematic and content-related exchanges. My migration short story I was born in Poland, in Gliwice, a working-class town. Anyone who wasn't in the right party back then was politically monitored and kept in poverty economically. My parents fled in 1987 with two children. The documents required for a new start were hidden and sewn up in the car. Previous reports from neighbors who had been stopped at the border and sent back to Poland without documents fueled the fear. After 2 days we arrived in Germany. We children assumed it would be summer vacation and that we would return to our own school and friends. After a stay in the Friedland reception camp in Lower Saxony, my parents looked for jobs and sent us children to school - without any previous knowledge of German. The rest is my CV. If you have a problem with my migration background, you can stop reading here and feel free to delete me from your contacts if we are already linked.
