I am a final year Neuroscience student (BSc) at the University of Leeds currently undertaking a capstone project in healthcare technology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine with a focus on hydrogel-assisted repair surgeries for Osteoarthritis. I am seeking opportunities to kickstart my career in medical sales and healthcare management.
My Key responsibilities include: - conducting safety briefings to up to 200 customers an hour, highlighting hazards and reducing incidents and injuries. - Scanning the water to identify hazards and injured swimmers. - Administering first aid and responding to emergencies. I utilise risk assessment techniques and participate in weekly maintenance of the park to ensure customer safety. Developed strong communication, first aid and problem-solving skills to maintain both a safe and fun environment.
After being selected for a summer internship management talent pool. I explored different methods of conflict resolution, operations and compliance. Learnt ways of improving customer service and sales, discovered different leadership styles and administrative tasks to comply with health and safety standards.
Joined the Dementia team on ward runs and in team huddles. Returned to the Capacity Management Team where I observed capacity managers manage both patient care and bed allocation.
I shadowed site managers across the hospital and observed how they react and respond to problems and ensure patient safety and care is met. Joined a variety of departments across the hospital ranging from respiratory medicine to palliative care to understand the steps taken for patients to be seen and treated with care.
I guided visitors through the Adventures Through Time and Space exhibition, enhancing visitor engagement, ensuring everyone has a positive experience at the museum. Collected and inputted public feedback onto an online database for future improvements of the exhibition and visitor experience.
Assisted in outreach events to schools for educational visits, such as ‘Evidence of Evolution’ . I co-ordinated with the educational team to consider appropriate artefacts and learning resources to fit curriculums and current teaching.
Ensured the safety of 40 customers each hour by employing efficient scanning techniques and maintaining constant vigilance. I assisted with customer enquiries and provided first aid when necessary.
