I teach and research data science and statistics at the University of Auckland | Waipapa Taumata Rau. My teaching focuses on helping students develop confidence and capability as they learn to work with data, with a particular emphasis on supporting positive first experiences with programming and innovative curriculum design. My research sits at the intersection of data science and pedagogy, spanning data science and statistics education and large-scale assessment practices. I am interested in how technologies and assessment methods can support learning at scale while keeping human judgement, reasoning, and creativity at the centre. Across my teaching and research, I am motivated by a commitment to making data science education an inclusive and engaging experience that helps learners see themselves as capable of working with data and code.
