Spring 2024: Studied/analyzed carnivorous humeri, femurs, ulnae, radii, tibiae, and skulls during a semester-long project. Collected data by creating 3-dimensional scans of the bones to find similarities across the animals. Fall 2024: Captured 3D images of bone using a CT scanner and separated elements within the scan. Landmarked the models to perform 3D geometric morphometrics. Spring 2025: Started working on independent research on the locomotor and predatory behavior of Borphagus. Used photogrammetry and a CT scanner to create 3D models of the forearm bones, 3D geometric morphometrics to analyze the morphology, and took linear measurements to calculate functional indices. Fall 2025: Continued to support my advisor by creating 3D models of bones. Created a scientific poster to present the independent work from Spring 2025 at the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology.
Created and presented a scientific poster on the results of my independent research on determining the locomotor type of Borphagus. Participated in the Poster Session by explaining my research and communicating with colleagues.
Presented research from Spring and Summer 2024 on borophagines morphological features at the annual meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.
Facilitated General Biology Laboratory (Bio1A) sessions with a Graduate Student Instructor. Participated in weekly staff meetings to prepare to teach undergraduates basic biology laboratory techniques. Presented and helped teach laboratory techniques to undergraduate students in 3-hour laboratory sessions.
