Anirban Chanda is a student at Columbia Law School (Class of 2026) with a strong academic and professional focus on U.S. Securities Law and Commercial Litigation. He is currently a legal extern to the Hon. Nicholas W. Moyne at the New York State Supreme Court. Anirban completed his first law degree (J.D. equivalent) in India in 2021 and subsequently worked as a Litigation Associate at the chambers of a designated Senior Advocate (King’s Counsel equivalent) in New Delhi. His litigation practice experience spans a broad spectrum of civil, commercial, and white-collar crime defense matters at both trial and appellate levels. He has also been involved in complex matters concerning anti–money laundering laws and the admissibility of electronic evidence. At Columbia Law School, Anirban has pursued advanced coursework and seminars in securities regulation, corporate law, international insolvency, and white-collar crime, under the instruction of leading scholars and practitioners, including Professor John C. Coffee, Chief Judge Martin Glenn (Bankruptcy Court, SDNY), and Judge Gerald Lebovits (NYS Supreme Court). He has also attended white-collar defense seminars led by prominent litigators such as Gary Naftalis and Andrew J. Levander, as well as commercial litigation-focused seminars conducted by partners from leading U.S. Biglaw firms.
