• Design and manage SBC’s overall fundraising strategy, plan and budget • Expand fundraising and research efforts and to solicit new funding from sponsors, major donors, foundations, government agencies, and other identified prospects; • In collaboration with President, maintain and expand SBC’s funding and supporter database; • Manage SBC’s programmatically targeted Grant and RFP database; • Coordinate SBC’s fundraising strategy with our communications and marketing strategy; • Develop, coordinate, and implement SBC’s sponsorship and major donor programs; • Ensure timely and accurate production of fundraising materials, including supporter campaigns, grant proposals, and grant reports; • Schedule and manage contacts between the President and key SBC staff with potential new sponsors, major donors, foundations, and government prospects; • Engage and help develop, maintain and implement annual fundraising plans; • Write fundraising letters and appeals, maintaining regular correspondence with foundations, donors, and board members, and oversee supporter mailings; • Plan donor and sponsor events; and • Prepare drafts of grant proposals and reports in coordination with the President, Vice President, and key project staff.
• Provided counsel and managed the Senator’s personal/official responsibilities and requests • Coordinated with 100 staff members to keep the Senator abreast of legislative developments and breaking news • Drafted personal/legislative correspondence on tight deadlines and serve as primary point of contact for all VIPS • Determined time sensitivity and importance of legislative staff questions and memos • Formulated and executed plan to distribute over 500 VIP tickets for 2013 U.S. Presidential Inauguration
• Worked on policy issues pertaining to the Environment, Energy, Interior, and Water • Compiled the Daily Energy Report – an aggregation of news articles and daily California energy data • Researched legislation and wrote recommendations for action on pending bills • Wrote over 15 letters each week in response to government officials, business leaders, & constituent inquiries • Drafted Floor statements from collected statistics, constituent stories, and feedback from the Senator & staff
