• As a residence Life Don, I foresee about 40 first year students in residence at Wilfrid Laurier University. • Trained to be calm in a crisis situation as a result of responding to different unforeseeable emergencies in and outside residence. • Act as a coach, role model and a mentor to first year students as they transition into the university and help connect them with resources on campus. • Responsible for identifying potential issues and trends within my team and community. • Collaborate and incorporate multiple perspectives into decision making. • Perform, document and submit accurate administrative responsibilities related to conduct in a professional and timely manner. • Modify and incorporate different approaches to meet the developmental needs of individual students and create an inclusive environment where all students feel like they belong.
• As an interpreter, my duties included but not limited to; possessing great concentration and split-second accuracy to precisely translate speeches as they are occurring. • provide simultaneous interpretation directly from conference tables and to limited audience at private meetings, listen to speakers through headphones and deliver translations through microphones. • familiarity with subject matters being discussed such as International Law terms and Human Rights, and high degree of confidentiality.
