Angelica Tostes is a Brazilian theologian and researcher working at the intersections of ecumenical theology, interreligious dialogue, religion and politics, and decolonial thought in Latin America. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from the Methodist University of São Paulo, with a focus on interreligious dialogue. She also completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Global Ecumenical Theology at the University of Geneva / Ecumenical Institute at Bossey (World Council of Churches). Her academic trajectory includes international study experiences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands) and the Henry Martyn Institute for Interreligious Dialogue and the Study of Religion, Hyderabad (India). From 2020 to 2025, she served as a researcher at the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research, where she investigated the role of religion in contemporary political dynamics in Latin America. She currently works with CESEEP (Ecumenical Center for Services to Evangelization and Popular Education) in Brazil, where she coordinates the Latin American Course on Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue and the Curso de Verão, one of the longest-running popular education programs in the region inspired by Liberation Theology. Angelica Tostes is a member of the Steering Committee of the Transformative Ecumenism Movement (TEM), an initiative supported by the Council for World Mission, and serves as the Latin American representative on the Executive Committee of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF). Her research interests include interreligious dialogue, feminist and queer theologies, multiple religious belonging, ecumenical pedagogies, and the relationship between evangelical movements and democratic politics in Brazil and Latin America.
