Angela Bellia is a Full Professor at the University of Palermo, where she serves as the Rector’s Delegate for MSCA, ERC, and FIS programs, and a leading expert in Sonic Heritage and Digital Heritage applied to Sound Studies. She earned her PhD from the University of Bologna, and her research bridges the gap between Humanities and Science (STEAM), focusing on aural architecture, heritage acoustics, and the digital reconstruction of ancient performative spaces. Currently, as the Principal Investigator of the VOICING Project - an Advanced Grant funded by the Italian Science Fund (FIS) and the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) - she manages a budget of over €2 million, leading multidisciplinary research teams. Her academic career is built on a strong international foundation, having studied and worked in New York, Paris and Zurich thanks to competitive mobility programs including Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Erasmus, Marco Polo. Previously a researcher at the National Research Council (CNR - ISPC), she has led multiple high-impact projects funded by the European Commission and NextGenerationEU: TELESTES: Musics, cults and rites of a Greek city in the West (H2020-MSCA-IF). STESICHOROS: The Archaeology of Sound in a Greek City (FP7-PEOPLE-MSCA-IOF). AURAL: Exploring the Potential of Immersive Virtual Reality for Experiencing Archaeological Soundscapes (MSCA-NextGenerationEU). Chair: Archaeomusicology Interest Group, Archaeological Institute of America (AIA). Editor-in-Chief: TELESTES Journal and the TELESTES Book Series. Evaluator: Expert member for various international research agencies (Spanish Research Agency, Austrian Science Fund, MSCA, COST). MCAA: Founding member/Chair of the Italy Chapter and recipient of the "MCAA Outstanding Contributor Award". Angela Bellia has presented at over 150 international conferences and authored over 120 publications. She actively mentors PhD and postdoctoral researchers, fostering career development in heritage science. Driven by an entrepreneurial mindset applied to Heritage Science, Angela combines academic excellence with high-level strategic management. She solidified this expertise with professional training in Managing and Marketing the Arts at NYU (School of Professional Studies). As the Founder of the Marie Curie Alumni Association Italy Chapter, she established a thriving network connecting researchers and institutions.
