Supervisor role leading the Geologic Carbon Sequestration Group at CGS
Southern Region Office - Groundwater Management Team •Create technical memos to assist the Sustainable Groundwater Management Program with the review Groundwater Sustainability Plans •Collect groundwater level data for upload to CASGEM •Videolog existing wells to evaluate casing and overall well conditions •Perform Rig Geologist Duties : assist in well construction investigations by logging formation samples during drilling; participate in well design; oversee geophysical surveys, oversee drilling operations and maintain site safety, well development, aquifer testing. -Salton Sea Dust Mitigation Project -Technical Support Service for Groundwater Sustainability Agencies -San Luis Canal Subsidence Project
South Texas Asset (Jan 2020 - Jun 2020) Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk West Texas Asset (Jun 2020 - Jun 2021) Val Verde Basin/Permian Basin Project lead on well planning: •Coordinated with the Land and Regulatory departments within the company to create plats and obtain drilling/surface use permits to insure well plans and operations are in compliance with the Texas Railroad Commission and Environmental Protection Agency. •Created pre-drill presentations that utilize the work of technical team members to evaluate the drilling strategy for each pad of wells to avoid fault hazards and optimize well placement/performance. •Advised a team of four to eight people while actively drilling by coordinating and maintaining 24/7 contact with mud logging geologists, directional drillers, and drilling engineers (well design and geosteering). •Recommend well completions strategy based on rock quality or hazards encountered. •Created well placement adjustments to upcoming boreholes based on data obtained while drilling previous borehole.
North Texas Asset (Aug 2014 - May 2017) - Barnett Shale South Texas Asset (May 2017 - Jan 2020) - Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk Recognized as the primary operations/geosteering geologist on 30 horizontal wells/year averaging 5000ft of lateral drilled per well. Proposed creative solutions to well placement and leasing efforts. Responsible for geological assessment/correlation, well planing/targeting, geosteering, and technical presentations.
Worked on projects that involved the development of Appalachian Basin assets though creating ArcGIS maps, utilizing GeoGraphix for well log interpretation and data entry, and geosteered wells with TerraVu2.
Responsible for maintaining a safe laboratory environment through implementing safety training courses, organization and laboratory setup Developed standardized workflows for lab safety training and laboratory setup in an effort to optimize productivity while maintaining a safe work environment Scheduled laboratory usage and optimized sample processing times and procedures Communicated and enforced Safety Procedures to lab personal
