• Lead execution of distributed energy projects (solar, EV, CHP, standby generators, energy efficiency) by coordinating teams from Safety, Engineering, Production & Service Departments and contractors, while maintaining positive & responsive relationship with Customer • Support Sales in assessment of opportunities, development of proposals by providing estimated costs and schedule for specified scope, developing division of responsibilities tables, reviewing contract T&Cs, and participation in customer sales calls • Manage and coordinate all aspects of project execution including design package development, bid solicitation, contractor selection, contract review, EH&S reviews and performance, on site construction, utility connection, invoice approval, schedule monitoring, budget and cost monitoring, commissioning and customer/operations handoff • Lead site walks at customer sites during bidding, planning, and execution stages of project • Provide timely and effective communication to internal and external stakeholders including timely metric reporting
• Led $44M emergency project to restore Unit 30 LP Generator after stator core failure from March 2017-July 2017. Returned 980 MW to electric system with no safety incidents. • Managed emergency high profile project to repair cracked generator rotor from December 2014-May 2015. Worked with multiple vendors, plant, engineering, insurance & risk, legal departments. Completed project 3 months faster than 2008 project. • Directly supervise active controllers in the field and manage contractors and consultants. • Lead the planning and execution of maintenance outages at Ravenswood Generating Station. Outages include 1-3 week summer preps and 10-17 week majors. All outages were completed within 1% of budget, accomplished all planned work, and on time. • Develop outage management tools and processes to reach the goals stated in the Outage Execution Guideline. • Lead pre-outage planning meetings with station personnel to discuss preventative maintenance and corrective work that will be executed, ensure resources will be available, ensure safety and environmental requirements are met, and coordinate timing of work to avoid conflicts. • Coordinate logistics for the outage including security requirements, utilities and equipment common to all outage work, lay down plans, and notifying onsite non-TransCanada personnel if they will be impacted. • Perform daily walk through of outage-related field work to check status of the work, solve any conflicts, and ensure strong communication between field personnel. • Provide timely and relevant feedback and reporting to leadership and station personnel through work progress tracking, status meetings, discovery and repair logs, and distributing weekly outage scorecard. • Reviewed the feasibility of the Bruce Nuclear Unit 2 and 4 stator swap through analysis of reports, meetings with Bruce personnel, and site walk of the two units and relocation paths as part of a five person hand-selected group from TransCanada.
• Led the execution of a portfolio of capital projects valued at $10-12M, roughly 30% of the annual capital budget at Ravenswood Generating Station each year. • Collaborated with customer, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders to develop and understand project goals and milestones. • Responsible for ensuring the cost, schedule and technical performance requirements of the projects are met by leading and working effectively with the project teams through the planning, execution, and close-out phases and maintaining active control. • Directly supervised and collaborated with active controllers in the field. • Managed multi-million dollar contracts for turbine generator inspection and overhaul projects including change orders and invoicing. • Special assignment with Keystone Reliability Initiative and provided PM support for EA&R Electrical Engineering in Calgary. Started October 31, 2011 and ended February 25, 2012. • Managed a portfolio of 15 projects budgeted for $3.8M in Keystone for 2011 and initiated 2012 projects. Led meetings with senior leadership to increase understanding of projects and garner project approvals. • Identified need for additional resources when scheduling, scope, and/or technical issues arise by proactively resolving them before they become problems.
Design and engineer new power plant systems, and repair and renew existing systems. Lead multi-discipline engineering teams. Regularly give updates and presentations to upper management on major projects including the selection, design and engineering of two new water treatment plants in two power plants. • Managed multiple capital projects, primarily focusing on two 3200GPM water treatment projects comprising over half of the capital Steam Operations annual budget from 2007 to 2010 ($50M total). Also engineered fresh water system make-up tanks, control air compressors, CEMS tubing modifications, and duplex strainers. • Performed comprehensive technical and economic evaluations of alternative water treatment system designs to develop project scope. • Garnered approval and funding for projects from senior management by presenting detailed analyses to support recommendations and gained buy-in from customers by collaborating and effectively communicating with them. • Administered multimillion-dollar contracts to purchase new water treatment systems at two Con Edison steam plants.
