Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
I am currently in my final year of studying Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University, a field I’ve been passionate about from a young age due to my natural creativity and interest in design. My academic journey has been complemented by valuable hands-on experiences, including work placements at leading architecture firms such as BDP and HLM Architects. During my time at BDP, I had the opportunity to engage with professionals at various stages of their careers, gaining invaluable insights into the path to becoming a fully qualified architect. My experience at HLM Architects involved designing both the interior and exterior of an existing building, where I honed my skills in SketchUp, using 3D modeling software to effectively present my design concepts. In addition to my academic and professional experiences, I also completed a 12-month Young Outdoor Leader’s programme sponsored by The North Face. This programme included outdoor adventures in locations such as the Peak District, Lake District, and London, where I developed essential leadership and teamwork skills through activities like rock climbing, gorge walking, and caving. The experience also included outdoor first aid training, further enhancing my problem-solving abilities and boosting my confidence in high-pressure situations.
I lead and support bouldering and top-rope sessions for climbers of all ages and abilities in a dynamic indoor climbing environment. I focus on promoting safety, skill development, and confidence-building while encouraging a love for climbing and active lifestyles.
I support the day-to-day care and early development of young children in a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. My role involves working closely with early years educators to help children learn through play, develop social skills, and meet key developmental milestones.
I’m responsible for maintaining the integrity and smooth running of academic and professional examinations. My role involves ensuring all exam regulations are upheld, providing clear instructions to candidates, and monitoring the exam environment to prevent malpractice.
My team and I developed a masterclass for pre-16 and post-16 prospective students, designed to provide insight into the Undergraduate Architecture course at Sheffield Hallam University. The sessions are hands-on, encouraging students to respond creatively to a mini brief similar to those studied on the course. The masterclass also highlights potential career pathways related to architecture.
Collaborated on a live project to develop digital twin models for the Sheffield Creative Industries Institute (SCII), supporting data-driven space planning and management. Produced 3D models of teaching and studio spaces, integrating spatial and environmental data, and contributed to presentations for stakeholders. Tools: Revit, Enscape, Twinmotion
1st Place Winner – 30th AIA UK Student Charrette Hosted by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) Participated in a one-day intensive design competition focused on creating a multifunctional outdoor space that encourages night-time activity. Our team was mentored by Pierre Baillargeon, who has been part of this event since the beginning, and we are proud to be his first winners. We developed a cohesive concept featuring an open-air music space, a market area, a performance space, gas-lit lanterns, and building projections to enhance the evening atmosphere. Collaborated under tight time constraints to explore spatial design, lighting, and user experience, and presented the final concept to a panel of architects and industry professionals. This experience strengthened skills in rapid design iteration, teamwork, and presenting ideas effectively in high-pressure environments.
