I'm a licensed Professional Engineer, Special Inspector, and a Florida-board Recognized Structural Engineer (FRSE). Let me know how I can help.
Recon Response Engineering LLC helps building owners, government organizations, insurance companies and legal teams determine what has gone wrong (or could go wrong) with a building. We use our engineering expertise combined with our experience in Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) teams to bring a practical response and recommendations package grounded in the reality of actual construction performance—not wish lists or impractical pipe dreams.
I served as a Structures Specialist (StS) for the State of Florida's Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force. Working as an StS, my job was to reduce the risk to rescue teams by monitoring a building's stability, anticipating probable failure modes, and mitigating known hazards. Deployed to Hurricane Hermine (2016), Hurricane Irma (2017), Hurricane Michael (2018), Hurricane Dorian (2019), Champlain Towers/Surfside collapse (2021), and Hurricanes Debby and Helene (2024).
As the assistant to the General Manager I was responsible for several programs, particularly conceptualizing and moving new initiatives, as well as completing short- and long-term projects and analyses.
I specialized in building restoration, repair of construction defects and investigation of moisture intrusion. Servicing the Tampa Bay area, I performed building inspections, evaluations, construction oversight and expert witness testimony.
Completed master's thesis research on enhanced application methods for fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) repairs on concrete. Utilized infrared thermography testing. Aided in construction and testing of portable, pressurized enclosure system for U.S. Navy flight deck repair. Helped to repair amphibious transport ship USS Nashville (LPD-13).
