I project manage, edit, write, develop and proof English language teaching materials. I can give you what you need when you want it and how you want it. Why can I do that? Well, I’ve got 20+ years of ELT publishing experience with primary, secondary and adult ELT materials. I’ve worked on, developed and project managed materials for successful government submission and approval (See my recommendation from Arthur McNeil.). I’ve worked with course books, workbooks, grammar books, exam-skills books, online test centres, companion websites, e-books and apps. In-house, I have worked with one large market-leading publisher and helped start and lead a great team at a growing publisher. Since starting to work on my own, I’ve worked with international publishing houses and language schools on products for both print and electronic delivery. And I can work in a British or North American environment. How’s that? Oh, there’s more. I teach English and understand English language teaching. I first taught English in a primary school in Nepal—and one of my classes had 92 students! I’ve worked in the USA with adult learners from more than 25 countries. I’ve worked in Hong Kong with primary and secondary school students. And presently I provide classes for Letterland Phonics, Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, P.6 Interview, HKDSE, IELTs & general English.

I provide classes for Letterland Phonics, Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, P.6 Interview, Cambridge YLE courses, HKDSE, IELTs & general English. I also develop my own materials for the courses I teach.
Responsibilities and achievements -Lead a team of writers and editors to the successful launch of Skill Smart, the first ever secondary ELT exam skills book published by EPH for HK secondary schools. In its first year, Skill Smart landed 18% of a competitive market (more than 7 publishers vying for 467 schools). -Developed and managed a coursebook series (Step Ahead) for the New Senior Secondary curriculum; series was the first Secondary ELT course from the company to land on the government recommended coursebook list, 12% market share. -Developed and managed a new Skill Smart series for the HKDSE, 15% market share. -Liaised with Marketing and Sales teams to develop strategies (e.g. questionnaires, focus groups, school visits) to make inroads in the market and identify publishing opportunities. -Wrote, produced and gave product presentations at various seminars and schools. -Hired and developed staff.
Responsibilities and achievements -Edited 2nd Edition of market leading grammar series, Grammar Explained / 2nd Edition of Grammar Explained for the HKCEE / companion workbooks & vocabulary books / listening & integrated skills mock exam papers / junior & senior secondary coursebooks. -Together with the Electronic Publishing team, project-managed the development of the Self-Access Centre, the first online test engine for the secondary ELT market in Hong Kong. -With a team of senior editors and supervisors, conceptualised, developed and planned educational content for secondary school ELT materials. -Managed and edited projects from head to toe, including sourcing photos, managing photo shoots, preparing audio scripts, managing recording sessions, sourcing and editing illustrations.
