Relocating from Louisiana to New Mexico years ago, I was hired by one of the 1st companies to even answer their door, and then something amazing happened.... I was introduced to the world of solar! I grew up building things (and taking them apart) and was always fascinated by science and math. I've also enjoyed a lifetime of water sports, camping and hiking and I appreciate the natural world - I'd like to do my part to help protect it. The field of photovoltaics seems to do it all for this Georgia Tech engineer. The installation of solar is repetitive by design and presents the opportunity to use my industrial & systems engineering degree for achieving efficiently constructed, first-time quality arrays of solar modules that last for decades. Lead quality & safety teams - Hire, train, coach team members to adequately support growth of business through safe, high quality assets. • Property: The Marker Harborside Resort • Oversee administrative, financial and operating aspects of the resort as they relate to Engineering / POMEC • Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair • Oversee functionality and safety of facility, including physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds, protecting well-being of guests and employees, and done so according to all applicable regulations • Create and adhere to annual operating budget and capital expenditure budget (CAPEX) for department as well as other departments • Develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings • Ensure the resort is following all local, state and federal law compliance • Supervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention • Conduct regular facility inspections and direct construction and installation, maintenance, and repair of all systems prioritizing operational efficiency and safety • Upon hire, cleared lengthy list of serious violations from fire department inspection, achieved 100% elevator certification after being 1+ year out of date, & re-established alarm system having been deactivated for the prior few years, all within 4 months of hire, garnering first Light Strike Award • Increased the effectiveness of engineering team efforts within 1 year instigating a reduction of work force needed by 50% without affecting guest satisfaction or increasing safety incidents • Perform duties of the onsite IT representative • Perform role of property security • Act as liaison with renovation project manager’s contractors concerning extensive capital improvement projects
