Andy brings more than 30 years of law enforcement, government, and security experience to Makwa Global. Prior to joining Team Makwa, Andy was with DECO Inc. as Program Manager for the Global Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program and developed or assisted developing other international courses and security training programs. He served as the Deputy Director General of a company in the United Arab Emirates and was responsible for building the team who would implement the pre-construction, construction and operational phases of security, and security training for the emerging civil nuclear energy program of Abu Dhabi and the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA). This was the first nuclear energy program in the Middles East. Andy has served other roles such as East Africa Manager where he managed the training and security efforts in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Sudan. He was the Chief Compliance Officer for a major security provider and conducted security and quality assurance in the USA, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other Middle Eastern countries.
Currently a reserve deputy for two Sheriff's Offices. In over 30 years, have served many roles from patrol, to supervisor, to detective, to narcotics, to specialized units as well as a general and specialized instructor.

Second in command dealing with the start-up of the company to include licensing, majority of the hiring of the key essential personnel and logistics associated (offices, lodging, vehicles, gear, etc). Management of the CNIA contract with a contract period of June 2010-May 2015 and total cost: $529,166,754.13. Direct manager for the mentor team advising the UAE government on the pre-construction, construction and operational security phases of their civil nuclear energy program. Monitor and Analyze specific project activities and expenditures to ensure compliance with project performance guidelines and prepare reports as required. Identify process problems, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement recommending possible solutions.
Instructed >150 instructors on fundamentals of adult learning and instructing foreign nationals. Evaluated the Afghan Border Patrol 6 week training program. Assisted in standardizing the ABP training program at 4 training sites. Implemented Tactical Operation Center and satellite tracking for personal protection.
