I have great in depth experience in businesses with multiple service lines/products/departments & sites, with business models that include tight margin control, subscription models, consignment profitability and businesses with a fixed cost bases needing to maximise their return. I have held various roles such as senior FP&A manager, senior commercial finance analyst, commercial finance manager and other core finance & reporting roles. My breadth of experience has covered technical database structures, new system config & set up to enhancements, producing MI and insightful analysis through to presenting to business stakeholders to influence decision making and business partner teams to be a trusted advisor. One source of the BHF income is from the 750+ retail shops that require retail analysis to make sure they are making a positive contribution to the cause of raising money to fund heart research. The role entailed weekly performance reporting, store profitability, KPI dashboards with commentary, budgeting for sites as well as adhoc reporting requests from regional managers.
Total Worldfresh is a fresh fruit & veg produce importer of a wide range of products from all over the world to supply both the UK retail and wholesale markets. They are also a marketing agent for soft fruit growers in the UK. Total Worldfresh are part of Total Produce PLC, which is one of the UK and Europe's largest & most accomplished, innovative fresh produce providers. During my time I was promoted through several roles. I started as a senior management accountant enhancing my core management accounting P&L and B/S skills, with weekly/monthly sales/margin/cost reporting into a group consolidation function. Other tasks were budgeting and foreign currency exchange purchasing, review and authorising supplier cash payments as well as audit queries and adhoc analysis, while also increasing my line management skills. My next role was a Systems and Project Accountant to implement and delay a new ERP system, including core set up, finance and reporting, as well as overseeing operational areas such as distribution costs or quality control. My last role was a commercial finance manager entailed engaging with the business on KPIs, introducing customer & supplier profitability reporting, as well as retailer scorecards with a mix of metrics. I also made several trips to a Morocco farm
