Andy has over 20 years’ experience in marine geoscience, survey and consultancy in the marine renewable and oil and gas sectors and currently leads the Site Characterisation & Engineering Team at Intertek Energy and Water. He is a Chartered Scientist and Marine Scientist with a strong academic background in marine geoscience, Andy provides technical guidance on marine surveys, site inspection and assessment, cable routing and landfalls, cable risk assessments and remediation, marine and coastal geological and geophysical issues and environmental impact assessments. He has extensive experience of subsea interconnector, cable and offshore renewables projects. He has acted as Project Manager and Project Director on numerous significant marine infrastructure projects including marine interconnectors, marine renewables, and export cables in the UK, Ireland, Europe and Worldwide through all aspects of project lifecycle, including acting as lead employer’s offshore representative. Specialties: Strategy, management and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in the power and energy sector; Sub-sea cables, Offshore Wind, Marine geophysics and geology.
• Senior project manager in the international/marine projects team at RSK • Technical guidance on marine and coastal geology and geophysics, environmental impact assessments (EIA), marine and terrestrial environmental survey work, literature reviews, data analysis, commercial tendering, reporting and presenting to key clients. • Interconnectors, marine renewables and oil and gas exploration and infrastucture projects.
• Onboard data acquisition and processing of shallow and deep 2D, 3D, 4D & wide azimuth seismic surveys • Responsible for geophysics department and management of key survey staff of up to 5 geophysicists. • Liaising with clients (government and oil companies), strategic planning of processing requirements for surveys. • Testing and identification of best processing parameters on a survey to survey basis. • Responsible for testing and operation of state of the art processing systems installed on SR/V Viking II (Jan 09) and managed geophysics team for the first full 3D processing of a survey on this vessel.
• Real-time quality control of seismic data requiring rapid analysis and immediate decision making. • Working as part of a seismic acquisition team. • Survey report preparation. • Awarded Bi-annual Award for contribution to safety onboard seismic vessel Veritas Searcher
