Supported a core design project at Dominion Energy.
Supervised 8 to 10 engineers responsible for the core designs of Surry units 1 and 2 and North Anna units 1 and 2 and the spent fuel pool criticality analyses for North Anna, Surry, and Millstone. Core design work involved loading pattern development, generation of fuel performance and safety analysis inputs, and generation of data to support startup physics testing, unit operation, nuclear instrumentation, and core monitoring. Spent fuel pool criticality analyses were being updated to support implementation of higher fuel enrichments and burnups, newer fuel designs and concepts, as well as the latest regulatory requirements.
Supported the core designs of Surry units 1 and 2 and North Anna units 1 and 2. Support included core design development, generation of fuel performance and safety analysis inputs, generation of core performance data (design report, operator curves, startup physics testing data, nuclear instrumentation data, etc.), performance of startup physics testing, and core performance monitoring.
