Chartered Engineer with experience of design, build integration and site engineering.
Responsibilities include: - CAD modelling of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies in NX. - Production of detailed engineering drawings for manufacture, assembly and installation. - Creation of design solutions both for new products and the resolution of current production issues. - Ensuring designs conform to customer specifications, as well as industry and military standards. - Timing and costing projects to ensure they are compatible with resources and requirements. - Preparation of technical reports, often delivered to military or Government customers. - Collaboration with other disciplines and functions (including electrical, manufacturing and service).
Placements included: - Design Engineer, Government & Defence Products (6 months) – CAD modelling of components and assemblies and producing engineering drawings, as per current responsibilities detailed above. - Structures Engineer, Research (3 months) – improving the efficiency of the workflow used to sign off all structurally critical components across the JCB Group and generation of project planning tools. - Development Engineer, Research (3 months) –responsibility for building and commissioning a test rig to evaluate the life of a critical component with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic functions.
