André Rodrigues da Silva graduated in Architecture from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa within the Architecture Faculty. He was born in Lisbon, a city in which he highlights the diversity, inscribed in its vibrant white light, within the organicity of the historical quarters and in the close connection with the river and sea. To define his relationship with architecture he evokes his memories. Recollections of the scent of ink and paper when he entered his father's office, with paper sheets and rolls spread across the room, of which he loved to see the lines and letters on the drawings. Their straightforward elegance captured his attention and eventually took him to architecture, an area where he’s been working over the past sixteen years. He considers that architecture helps people – to improve and support relations between them – and society. He also strongly believes that architecture is made of sharing, commitment and discussion, and not just a style exercise as an answer to a creative whim. Over the past years he worked in several architecture ateliers studios and began his independent professional practise in 2012. Founder of Other Fields Studio and Co-founder of Sparrowhawk he’s been developing a diverse range of works from technical consultancy to housing, touristic and equipment projects. He has been working in the creation and execution of projects in all of its developmental stages, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and production control, client driven monitoring, commercial contact with suppliers of decoration solutions, construction materials and overseeing all of the work processes. He has also been developing styling projects of interior ambiance, as well as conceptual studies for the implementation of touristic unities.
