As an assistant coach, in a semi-pro team, I also had the responsibility of organizing the schedule, as well as everything related to logistics, including transportation, food, equipment, working with sponsors and suppliers, but also with players. For some time, I was also a midfielder.
Creation and operation of a subsidiary of a Venezuelan company of which I was one of 5 partners, looking to enter the Peruvian market of nuts, dried fruits and juices, like almond, cashew and peanut, among others. This business adventure included: • Strategy, planning, procedures. • Daily operations: Production, packaging, dispatch. • Administrative duties, including customers and suppliers management. • Design and Labelling, including brand development. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, in May of 2020, we had to change strategy and develop a partnership with a local logistics company, acting as their distributor and dispatcher, in the area of vegetables, dried fruits and nuts. This was a super valuable experience for me. I learned a lot about managing a company, being in a partnership, and managing customers and suppliers. This learning supposed touching a little bit of planning, procurement, processes and procedures, personnel management and general strategy. But probably the most valuable learning of this experience, was failing. I finally had to return to Venezuela, review my interests, talents and skills. I decided to put my energies into the family business – a gas station and convenience store- for a few years, focusing on two specific areas: administration and human resources.
