I am currently working as a Junior Group Leader at Universitat Politècnica de València. I lead the Enring project that aims to develop a multi-layered defence framework to increase the structural resilience of critical buildings against multiple hazards. This fellowship is funded by the La Caixa Foundation through the Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellowships Retaining Call 2025. Previously, I was involved primarily in ENDURE (i.e., a 2.5 M€ ERC Consolidator Grant project) and ENCAST (a proof-of-concept project within the framework of ENDURE), both hosted at UPV also. The ENDURE project aims to develop a novel fuse-based segmentation design approach to arrest the propagation of failures in building structures, whereas ENCAST seeks to translate this new philosophy to its application for precast building systems. Before coming to Spain, I was a postdoctoral researcher at iBETON, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, 2020-2021), where I was involved in Swiss-funded projects (by the Federal Road Administration) and EU-funded projects (SlabSTRESS). I hold a PhD degree in Structural Engineering from Imperial College London (PhD, DIC, 2019). I obtained both my bachelor’s (BSc, 2013) and master’s degrees (MSc, 2014) from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. Professionally, I am currently acting as the Chief Technical Advisor of the Sumitomo Global Building Team (a part of the Sumitomo Rubber Industries). In this role, I assist our international clients (primarily in Indonesia, the Philippines, Turkey, the US, and Latin America) in conducting feasibility studies to incorporate our seismic viscoelastic dampers into their projects. I am also a partner/co-founder of two startup companies, Gravena and Archipelago Seismic Solutions, which provide specialised consultancy services for developing tailored software for the construction sector and designing critical facilities using seismic dissipative devices, respectively.

I am involved as a postdoctoral researcher in the ENDURE project (i.e., a 2.5 M€ ERC Consolidator Grant project hosted at the Universitat Politècnica de València), which aims to develop a novel fuse-based segmentation design approach to arrest the propagation of failures in building structures. I lead one of the work packages of Endure, which focuses on designing, manufacturing, and testing the structural fuses and buildings’ subassemblies. Simultaneously, I am also actively involved in assisting with the activities on the other two work packages. My fellowship is funded through a competitive call by Generalitat Valenciana (CIAPOS postdoctoral scheme).
As the chief technical advisor for the global building team, I play a crucial role in engaging with potential clients and providing detailed explanations of our seismic visco-elastic dampers' technology, so-called GRAST, and their benefits for improving the seismic performance of buildings (https://grast.jp/en/). I also conduct seminar/workshop sessions for structural engineers in various countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Turkey, Hongkong, and Latin America (Peru and Chile), equipping them with the necessary knowledge to incorporate our dampers into their designs. Additionally, I offer on-site guidance and support, ensuring quality inspections are performed to guarantee the correct installation of our dampers at construction sites, maintaining the highest safety and performance standards. Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is a major Japanese rubber and tyre manufacturer, founded in 1909 and headquartered in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture. The company operates globally under brands such as Dunlop and Falken, producing tyres for passenger, commercial, and motorcycle vehicles, as well as industrial rubber products and sports equipment.
Acting as the technical advisor for the company with the following responsibilities: 1) providing technical advice for designing and inspecting the installation of seismic dissipative devices for strategic/critical buildings like hospitals, universities and data centres; 2) supervising the development of a post-processing (cloud-based) tool for seismic detailing; 3) educating structural engineers in Indonesia about the use of seismic passive control systems through webinars, workshops, and seminars.
I am currently acting as a secretary of Task Group (TG) 10.3, which aims to develop practical worked examples according to the newly released Model Code 2020.
The Young Members Group aims to build a framework that will allow young engineers to participate in the activities of the association and to bring their ideas to the working groups and the decision bodies.
I am currently the Chair of fib-YMG Indonesia. The long-term goal of fib-YMG Indonesia is to provide a medium for young engineers to exchange their experience and knowledge with their colleagues and to expose young engineers in Indonesia with the latest advancement of concrete technology, used nationally and internationally.
fib AG8 supports relevant activities in the fib task groups TG2.4, TG3.1 and TG3.2 within the field of Non-Linear Finite Element-modelling. AG8 focusses on updating the Sections 7.11 and 3.4 of the current Model Code 2010.
