In March 2022, Veolia completed the strategic acquisition of SUEZ. Currently, I serve as Business Controller overseeing waste incineration, landfill operations, and industrial cleaning activities. My responsibilities include analyzing market trends and their operational impact, developing forecasts and budgets, and conducting variance analyses. Additionally, I lead the development of comprehensive business plans in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Veolia's strategic objectives. I collaborate closely with Business Unit management, cross-functional departments, and stakeholders from Veolia's joint venture partnerships related to these Business Units.
As a Business Controller, I oversaw comprehensive financial and operational performance monitoring across the organization. My core responsibilities included analyzing market trends, identifying key performance variations, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement strategic improvements. I played a pivotal role in developing and maintaining detailed Business Plans that supported critical investment decisions. Initially, I managed the financial oversight of SUEZ's waste collection operations throughout the Flanders region. My role subsequently evolved to encompass national-level responsibilities, with a specialized focus on specific operational segments. Throughout my tenure, I gained extensive expertise across almost all aspects of Waste Collection operations. During this period, my role evolved to focus on Waste Treatment and Recycling operations, shifting from collection services. I assumed responsibility for overseeing waste incineration facilities, landfill management, and the comprehensive value chain of bottom ash treatment. My role required extensive stakeholder management, enabling me to build strong working relationships with Country board management as well as teams including Operations, Finance, Sales and Human Resources, ensuring integrated business solutions and optimal organizational outcomes.
As a Financial Analyst, I was member of a team responsible for delivering consolidated reports and to analyze financial and operational metrics for both company-wide and regional management. I oversaw analytical reporting processes and created and maintained comprehensive management dashboards. Additionally, I played a important role in various value chain initiatives, specifically focusing on critical waste flow optimization. My responsibilities included preparing detailed financial and operational analyses, identifying significant trends, and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
