About

Just like many other peers of my age, I am more or less an average university student who is trying to stay afloat while handling other commitments. My education journey was not exactly the most smooth-sailing: I was a student who retained back in secondary school. I did not perform well for my end-of-year examinations in Secondary 2 and was given the option to either repeat another year or transfer to the Normal Academic stream in another school, in which I picked the latter. I struggled to learn and keep myself disciplined but eventually found my way when my former teachers spoke to me about my plans moving forward. I had a very supportive Vice-Principal, Mr Koh Lip Kang, when I first transferred to Montfort Secondary School in 2017, who wrote into MOE to appeal and allow me to take up a pure science subject combination for when I was in Secondary 5 when I told him I had plans to pursue my studies in a JC after I graduated from secondary school. My ex-form teachers were extremely supportive of this and they also shared with me some of their relevant experiences to help me find my path in life. Since then, I picked myself up from where I fell and proceeded to obtain my 'A' Levels in NYJC and eventually landed in NTU and is currently pursuing my interest in studying Chemistry and Environmental Science. Since my upper secondary school days, I also had plans to pursue a career as an educator. I am also currently a part time private tutor, specialising in teaching 'A' Level Chemistry, as well as 'O' Level Mathematics and Chemistry since 2020. My current aim mainly includes focusing on my currently studies and finding out more about my academic interest while gradually expanding and accumulating my teaching experiences and hopefully I am able to pursue my PGDE with NIE after I graduate from NTU.
