Hello! I'm Andrew, and I'm a super passionate student at UMD's Smith School of Business, majoring in Accounting and Finance. I believe in being proactive, and this mindset has driven me to get involved in accounting opportunities early on as well as diverse campus organizations that provide hands-on experience and prepare me for the dynamic world of business. Lead a 10-member university-wide committee representing 40,000+ students, advising the Vice President & Chief Information Officer on technology strategy, digital equity, and innovation Direct committee initiatives on expanding Wi-Fi access, improving device loaner programs, and increasing faculty adoption of AI-supported tools like Panopto auto-recording
Evaluate budget proposals to effectively distribute a $2.4 million budget to 900 student clubs Performed targeted audit of clubs with large expenditures, devised future allocation strategies and advised the CFO to reasonably distribute activity fund to clubs which would benefit most
Organize and lead 8+ professional events a semester hosting recruiters for 40+ students, enhancing networking and professional development Collaborate with cross-functional board members to align budgeting, promotion, and logistics, ensuring effective planning and execution of events and meetings Design and implement targeted engagement strategies to boost student attendance and maximize recruiter participation at professional events
Represent ABA at monthly meetings of the Smith Undergraduate Student Association, advocate for club initiatives and collaborate with other leaders to best serve Smith students Spearhead social and service events in partnership with other clubs to meet SUSA engagement criteria and foster community within the Smith School
Conducted research and assist with accounting consultations for public companies on various topics including property transfer and equity method investments Analyzed consultation topical trends to support regulatory decision-making, and developed a platform to track and organize data from 3,000+ consultations spanning over 20 years Maintained and updated 250+ outstanding accounting consultations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and accessibility for regulatory analysis Delivered research-based recommendations to the PPG audit team to inform fraud prevention efforts and enhance regulatory compliance
