I'm a recent graduate from Wheaton College (MA). I graduated summa cum laude with a BS in chemistry. I'm interested in all fields and topics related to organic chemistry. I have completed an honors thesis to gain departmental honors in chemistry, doing research related to green asymmetric hydrogenation using organocatalysis techniques. Given my recent internship at the Huntsman Corporation, I have gained invaluable experience in the industrial chemistry work environment. I aim to work at the forefront of chemical innovation, applying chemical synthesis in its related avenues.
Chemistry Tutor for: General Chemistry (CHEM 153), Aqueous Equilibria (CHEM 232), Organic Chemistry I (CHEM 253), and Organic Chemistry II (CHEM 254).
Teaching assistant for General Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry I under Dr. Christopher Kalberg. TA for 40+ students as well as providing office hours
Working with Dr. Christopher Kalberg to integrate green and mechanochemistry methodology to sustainably produce α-(acyl amino)acrylates derivatives and conduct asymmetric hydrogenation resulting in stereospecific amino acids. This research was translated into a successfully defended honors thesis focused on the use of sustainable, non-air-sensitive organocatalysts for asymmetric hydrogenation.
Working closely with the pigments and dispersants groups, working specifically on dispersants. Utilizing amine chemistry to make a new line of dispersants that can have a wider range of industrial applications.
