During his four years in China, Andrew traveled between Shanghai and Dalian developing and managing client relationships with executives and mid-level management from several of the largest companies in the US, on behalf of one of China's largest technology firms. He personally led the company's expansion into South East Asia, earning him an Employee of the Year award, and ultimately headed a team of account managers helping clients lower their operating costs and deliver superior customer experience.
From 2012 through 2016, Andrew worked with a financial planning group, writing numerous investor education articles and providing timely, thematic investment advice to clients. Topics covered included retirement planning strategies, investment diversification recommendations, defensive positioning in volatile markets, the impact of central bank policies, and more.
As the Assistant Portfolio Manager for a private investment group, Andrew was responsible for vetting investment opportunities in IPOs, private placements and special situations, by meeting with venture capitalists, attending road shows, and discussing with other portfolio managers and analysts at large institutional money managers.
Andrew began his career in wealth management in 2004 at UBS corporate headquarters. Initially helping Financial Advisors across the US to trade and manage their fee-based mutual fund accounts, he moved from New York to Los Angeles in 2006 and began constructing investment portfolios and designing financial plans for high net worth clients of the downtown LA and Century City offices, receiving a Service Excellence Award for his work that year. In 2007, Andrew was privileged to help UBS open its Private Wealth Management office in Los Angeles, responsible for all fee-based accounts in the office, making investment recommendations for ultra high net worth individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations, as well as training Private Wealth Advisors on advanced estate planning and concentrated risk solutions.
