After graduating with a degree in Drama and English, I studied acting at Mountview Theatre School where I also wrote scores, songs & sketches. I then spent many years as an actor, while continuing to write scripts, sketches, links, songs and scores for Theatre and TV - Granada, LWT, Thames, Yorkshire BBC1, Radio 2, 1 & 4. Concurrently I was writing for corporate events, videos and audio presentations. As a freelance writer, I have created film and conference scripts, sketches and copy for a very large number of companies and organisations including household names such as HMRC, BT, Abbott, O2, Credit Suisse, National Grid, Barclays and many more. My most recent work into this year is a series of film scripts on global business resilience, crisis management and cybersecurity for several very prominent financial institutions and global businesses and extensive website copy on mental health issues for Talkmind.com I was awarded a 'best original song' award for a song written with composer Gianluca Cucchiara and I am currently working on lyrics for a new musical with Gianluca and award-winning producer Giovanna Romagnoli. I have just completed the lyrics for ‘Pass It On’, the official song commissioned for the inaugural Fireball World Cup and am currently working on my own new musical project.
Having started out in theatre and TV writing and composing, I broadened my horizons to include scriptwriting for business audiences and civil services. I have a depth of experience in marketing and brand positioning and have been involved in high profile projects for leading household names including purveyors of chocolate snacks to Shipping Companies. As a freelance creative, I have helped to create brand names, edit and develop proposal documents, write and editing pitches, conference scripts, videos, brochures and work in a wide variety of challenging creative roles. This includes scripts for both audio and video presentations, business articles plus creative scripts and comedy sketches and lyrics for large scale conferences. I have an extensive specialism in Business Resilience topics having written numerous business continuity, crisis management and cybersecurity scripts and copy as part of global resilience campaigns for internal comms. I also work as a freelance copy editor and content provider for retail websites, producing taglines, blogs, articles, newsletters and overseeing site copy to protect and maintain the brand. I can write simple, readable copy as well as more creative work. I am loyal and enjoy collaboration. I have a strong all-round musical knowledge well as pop, classical, theatrical and literary culture and can recreate many writing styles accurately and creatively! I have been asked to write in the styles of, for example, Austin, Pinter, Shakespeare and Dickens professionally and have managed all with success.
