Kingspan is one of the world's leading manufacturers of insulated panel systems used in commercial, industrial, cold storage, infrastructure, and architectural constructions in Australia. The company specialises in high-performance building envelope solutions that combine insulation, weatherproofing, and structural cladding into a single prefabricated panel system.
My role at Kingspan will not be too dissimilar to, my previous role, in my previous employment. However, there will be more enfaces on the envelope of the building helping Architects selecting, documenting, and ensuring compliance of insulated panel systems on a construction project. I will continue to present formal AIA CPD refuel learning outcomes for Architects.
I worked for Bondor/Metecno for 9 years and thoroughly enjoyed my role. In my nine years, I personally was involved with multiple major and small projects from specification, estimation to procurement. It was an exciting and satisfying role, helping architects specify the correct product for the right application. I particularly feel proud to have contributed to the performance for the WA market with a 270% increase in production making Western Australia one of top State performers. I introduced the Architectural awards to UWA and Curtin University for the leading architectural students. As well as, presented over 350 AIA CPD sessions to both WA and SA architects. I was involved with the UDIA, HIA, AIA, Master Builders and many more. An opportunity to move to Kingspan was too good to refuse and the next chapter of my working career begins.
Andrew has over 14 years’ experience in the glass industry which includes knowledge in aluminium design, fabrication and glazing. His diverse knowledge of the industry gives him the ammunition to answer most building and architectural questions. As Business Development Manager for Viridian, Andrew’s experience brings a fresh and knowledgeable approach to obtaining new business.
As Architectural Manager my job was to help Architects, ESD consultants, Acoustic Consultants and Interior design specialists, to specify the correct glass to meet BCA requirements and glazing codes. This was done by going through plans and reading section 'J' requirements. Helping them to design the correct glass pertaining to wind loads, fire rated, energy and structural performance. Following up my specification to builder and tender stage.
As General manager I was responsible for the smooth running of the company. My role included tendering for major projects, designing windows and doors. Project management. Ultimately, increasing profitability and turn over.
