The Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant is a Canadian nickel concentrate processing facility located in Long Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador. Operated by Vale Limited, construction on the plant started in April 2009 and operations began in 2014 with construction costs in excess of CAD $4.25 billion. Procurement Specialist, Fluor (August 2009 to December 2010) Fluor performed construction management services for the Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant built by Vale. • Responsible for tendering activities on service packages (Site Survey, Geotechnical & Concrete Testing, Earthworks & Site Preparation, Fleet Vehicles) Achievements. • One of five staff retained by Fluor from Hatch project team. Hatch had two hundred fifty project staff and achievement made by ensuring work completed on time, within budget and establishing effective communication and relationships with client. Project Buyer, Hatch, (October 2008 to July 2009) Hatch performed the engineering and procurement for the Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant built by Vale before being replaced by Fluor prior to construction phase. • Responsible for all purchasing and tendering activities on electrical and instrumentation packages (Transformers, Switchgear, Generators, Substations, Cable Ducts, Valves, Analyzers)
