Artificial intelligence in regulated industries depends on governed meaning. Government agencies and regulated organisations make decisions based on legislation, policy, and evidence. AI systems must therefore interpret language consistently and operate within transparent governance frameworks. My work focuses on semantic governance for AI. For more than 30 years I have worked with government organisations to design data strategies, information architectures, and governance frameworks that support large operational systems. My background in data management and enterprise information architecture shapes my perspective on AI adoption. Many organisations focus on AI models and tools. The greater challenge is ensuring that language, policy rules, and domain knowledge are interpreted consistently across systems and decisions. Without semantic governance, AI systems create inconsistency, operational risk, and loss of decision transparency. My work focuses on helping organisations build the semantic infrastructure required for trusted AI decisions. Key areas of focus include: • Semantic governance frameworks for AI • Data strategy and information architecture for public sector organisations • Governance of unstructured information and regulatory language • Hybrid AI approaches combining machine learning and symbolic reasoning • Decision intelligence in regulated environments • Operationalising AI in government, defence, financial services, health, and compliance environments I previously served as President of DAMA Australia and continue to contribute to the data management community. The principles of data governance and information management remain critical foundations for successful AI adoption. Through Raedan AI I work with organisations seeking to move beyond AI experimentation toward operational, transparent, and accountable decision intelligence.
Raedan AI works with government and regulated industries to implement AI systems that deliver transparent and defensible decisions. Our focus is on semantic governance and decision intelligence in environments where organisations must interpret complex documentation, regulatory language, and policy frameworks. Key areas of work include: • Semantic governance frameworks for AI systems • Interpretation of regulatory and policy language using hybrid AI • Decision intelligence for compliance, audit, and regulatory workflows • Governance of unstructured information used in AI systems • Operational AI solutions that support review-by-exception decision models Typical outcomes include: • Reduced manual review of regulatory documentation • Faster interpretation of submissions and complaints • Consistent classification of information against regulatory rules • Transparent reasoning supporting AI-assisted decisions
Data Modeling Zone is an annual conference in the US, Europe and now the Asia Pacific where data and information management professionals can sharpen your data modelling skills and share experiences with other data professionals. Data Modeling Zone Asia Pacific in March 2019 his over 20 sessions crossing three tracks: - Innovations, new approaches to information design issues - Tools, process and technology solutions to modern data management issues - Case studies, in data modeling and data management best practice. There are also workshops on data modeling and enterprise data strategy. Please see the website for more details.
Data Governance and Data Management consultant helping clients maximise the value of their data. Defining data strategy, architecture and governance, in order to get the most value from business intelligence and analytics. Assessing and implement enterprise data management solutions to reduce cost and complexity, increase trust and integrity, and improve operational effectiveness.
