Work ranged from RIBA stage 2 structural concept design for a large health and leisure development - including frame and slab optioneering, embodied carbon calculations, and dynamic analysis - to using 3D finite element modelling software to review structural capacity of existing retail building roof structures . The placement offered me valuable experience within a consultancy setting, working within a multidisciplinary team who place sustainability and the ethos of total architecture at the forefront of the design process.
